Rumors about the purported Samsung Galaxy S6 are still catching up now that it's only about days before 2014 is over.

The latest scoops indicated a series of images that leaked online which shows the upcoming flagship from Samsung with a metal frame and a "fluorescent yellow" painted plastic front.

The Samsung company, who later picked up the story, stated in their report that the alleged next-gen smartphone will instead have a 5.5-incher display dimension and not the previously rumored 5.2-inch size.

Also mentioned in the leaked specs include a 1080p display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 system chip which is both reserved for upper-mid-range devices.

PhoneArena.com meanwhile speculated that these details only put the device "a bit short of flagship phone expectations."

Other tech websites seem to concur to the suggestion that the leaked info should be taken with a pinch of salt.

"While the images appear to show a new Samsung handset, given the device's fat bezels and bright yellow hue, we would be hesitant to say this is flagship S6 and not just another mid-range offering," Trusted Reviews said.

Setting aside latest leaks, it was previously reported that the upcoming S6 will certainly rival the newly-released iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in terms of design, function, and feel.

It was indicated that the device would either have a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or Snapdragon 805 processor which will be coupled with a 3GB worth of RAM. Sources also claim that the next flagship would boast a 21-megapixel rear-mounted camera.

Regardless of all these talks, official announcements about the Samsung Galaxy S6 are expected to land at the CES 2015 which will take place next month. If not, fans could expect updates during the MWC 2015 in early March.
