When you're done transferring the files, safely disconnect your phone

Navigate to Kies
Click "Download for Mac OS"
Follow the on-screen instructions to install Kies on the Mac
Establish a USB connection between the SGS6 and Mac
Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
Launch Kies on the Mac
In Kies, click the "Back up / restore tab"
Access the "Backup" tab and mark the check box next to "Music", " Photo" and other types of media files you wish to back up (optionally click "select all items")
Click "Backup"
After the process is complete, eject the phone's storage and safely disconnect it from the Mac
