Backing Up and Restoring Your Information

Look for the Firmware version. This shows the current OS version on your mobile device.
To continue, select the Android OS that is installed on your phone.
Android 2.2 (Froyo)
Contacts
AT&T Address Book
From the Home screen, touch Applications > Contacts > Menu
Touch More > Settings > AT&T Address Book.
Confirm by selecting OK.
Touch Accept to continue.

Save Contacts to SD Card
Note: You must have a properly formatted microSD card installed to se see the Import/Export to SD option.
Export to SD Card
From the Home screen, touch Applications > Contacts > Menu.
Touch Import/Export > Export to SD card.
Confirm export by selecting OK.
Import to SD Card
From the Home screen, touch Applications > Contacts > Menu.
Touch Import/Export > Import from SD card.
Touch Phone to save the contacts to the phone memory.
Google Gmail
From the Home screen, press the Menu button > Settings > Accounts & Sync.
Touch your Google account to display the Data & synchronization screen.
To sync your Gmail, Calendar or Contacts, touch the setting to enable synchronization, a check mark appears in the check box.
Press the Menu button > Sync now.
Exchange Mail
From the Home screen, press the Menu button > Settings > Accounts & Sync.
Touch your Exchange Mail account to display the Data & synchronization screen.
To sync your Email, Calendar or Contacts, touch the setting to enable synchronization, a check mark appears in the check box.
Touch Menu > Sync now.
Text Messages
Text messages will be lost. To save an important text message, you can copy it to your SIM card and restore it after the Update.
Note: Your SIM card may not support this feature.
Copy messages to SIM
From the Home screen, touch Applications > Messaging.
Select the text message that you want to save.
Press and hold the text message. Touch Copy to SIM.
Restore Messages to the Phone
From the Home screen, touch Applications > Messaging > Menu > Settings.
Touch Manage SIM card messages.
Select text message that you want to save.
Press and hold the text message. Touch Copy to Phone memory..
Applications
Any installed applications downloaded from the Android market must be re-installed. To re-download Paid applications that you have purchased, follow the steps below.
From the Home screen, touch Applications >Market > Menu > My Apps.
If prompted, sign in with your Google account credentials.
Paid applications will populate in the list shown.
To re-download Free applications you can visit www.market.android.com and log-in with your Google account information. All previously downloaded applications are listed in My Library.
Android 2.1 (Eclair)
Contacts
AT&T Address Book
From the Home screen, touch Applications > Contacts > Menu
Touch More > Settings > AT&T Address Book.
Confirm by selecting OK.
Touch Accept to continue.

Step 3. Analyze for Deleted Samsung Contacts
Click "Start" to make your Samsung analyzed. Just as the below picture.
Note: Be sure your phone battery is no less than 20% changed.
Now turn to your mobile and tick "Allow". Then pay attention to your computer again. Click "Start" on the window below.
Step 4. Check and Get Samsung Contacts Back
The scanning progress will cost you a few minutes. When all the scanned results are listed out, you will see deleted (orange ones) or undeleted (black ones) phone lists. Select what you want and tap "Recover" to save them.
Note: The recovered contacts are saved on you PC. If you want to transfer them back to your Samsung again. Please use Android Transfer.
